Eight Chestnut Horses
Composed by Enkhbayar

Mongolian songs often praise horses, real and legendary, reflecting the close relationship between horses and humans. A 13th century chronicle refers to the eight chestnut horses of Genghis Khan, and they have thus become a symbol of national identity which embodies the Mongolian people’s love for their native language and culture. Indigenous Mongolian musical rhythms are often patterned after the rhythm of a running horse. Such rhythms, found throughout this piece, represent one of the major ethnic features of Mongolian music.

Done Written Down My Name
Composed by Trobaugh

This is a timely remembrance by a contemporary American composer of Christ’s faithfulness regardless of the circumstances of life.

He is best known for his composition SALVATION IS CREATED. O LORD GOD has endeared itself to Nordic Choir as its closing selection for over 50 years. “I will sing to the Lord as Long as I live!”

When I Survey The Wondrous Cross
Arranged by Gilbert Martin

Gilbert Martin, a contemporary American composer, has given us this unique harmonic setting of a familiar hymn.
