David F. Greedy, Professor Emeritus, was the founding director of Dorian Opera Theatre as well as the opera program at Luther College. He received his Master of Music degree from Eastman School of Music and B.A. degree in Performance and Music Education from Tarkio College, Tarkio, MO. He has had advanced training at the University of Iowa, and has studied voice with Julius Huehn, Herald Stark, Burton Coffin, Hermanus Bear, and Daniel Ferro. His directing experience includes such productions as The Marriage of Figaro, Princess Ida, Die Fledermaus, South Pacific, and Sound of Music. His own appearances on stage have included roles such as Papageno in The Magic Flute, Farfarello in Love of Three Oranges, Ko-Ko from The Mikado, and Snoopy in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown. In 1976 Mr. Greedy sang the roles of Don Alfonso in Cosi fan Tutte, Rigoletto in Rigoletto, and El Dancairo in Carmen, which were opera scenes under the direction of Boris Goldovsky.
