Saturday, January 9

11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.—Chamber Choir Registration - Jenson-Noble Hall of Music, Noble Recital Hall (NRH)

12:30-4:00—Chamber Choir rehearsal, NRH

4:00-6:30—Chamber Choir rehearsal and dinner with Nordic Choir, NRH

7:00-9:00—Chamber Choir rehearsal, NRH

 

Sunday, January 10

9:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m., as scheduled—Soloists perform at designated centers

Please be there a few minutes ahead of time so that our compact schedule may run without delay. NOTIFY US AHEAD OF TIME IF THERE IS A CANCELLATION. Soloists should come to rehearsal as soon as they're finished singing.

10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. —Chamber Choir rehearsal, NRH

12:00 p.m.–1:30 p.m.—Festival Choir Registration - Center for Faith and Life (CFL), Balcony Area.

Only directors go through the registration line. Registration tables are set up alphabetically according to school name.

Name tags for each director and pins for each participant will be given to the director. Remember, have the signed permission forms and completed Dorian Registration cards for each student.

1:30 p.m.—Seating of the Festival Choir, CFL auditorium

2:00–4:10 p.m.—Festival Choir Rehearsal

The first Festival Choir rehearsal under the direction of Craig Arnold will be held. Promptness and full attendance are requested. Students should put their coats in the designated areas where one enters the main auditorium. Please do the same Monday evening.

4:15–5:00 p.m.—WOMEN remain and rehearse their selections

4:45–6:30 p.m.—Supper

Student Union cafeteria: $7.75. If you wish sandwiches, hamburgers, fries, etc., Marty's Cafe will be open until 10:30 p.m.

7:00–8:30 p.m.—Concert

We are pleased to present a guest high school choir. Aurora and Norsemen, two of the Luther College choirs, will also perform on this concert.

8:45 p.m.—Students get their personal belongings and take them to their assigned housing area

8:45 p.m.—Directors Reception

For Directors, a reception will be held at the Elks Lodge on 402 W. Main St. after the Sunday evening concert. Co-sponsored by Kephart’s Music Center, Inc. and Luther College.

9:15–10:45 p.m.—Dance for all in the Luther College Regents Center

11:00 p.m.—Students report to their assigned housing area

Doors to the residence halls will be locked at this time. Drinking of alcoholic beverages will not be tolerated. Do STRESS the importance of this with your students.

Monday, January 11

7:00–9:00 a.m.—Breakfast

$4.50—Student cafeteria.

8:15 a.m.-9:45 a.m.—Rehearsal of the Festival Choir for ALL MEN only, CFL

9:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m., as scheduled—Soloists perform at designated centers

9:45–10:15 a.m.—Rehearsal of the Festival Choir for ALL WOMEN only, CFL

10:30–10:50 a.m.—Daily chapel at Luther College

All are welcome to attend (CFL).

11:00–12:30 p.m.—Full rehearsal for ALL in Festival Choir, CFL

12:45–1:30 p.m.—Lunch

Lunch in the cafeteria is available for $6.25. Marty's will be open as well. Remind students they may exit from the CFL by way of the tunnel leading to the Union dining area. Exit door - west hallway - CFL. No wraps necessary.

1:45–2:30 p.m.—Final rehearsal for ALL WOMEN of Festival Choir, CFL

2:00–3:30 p.m.— Reading Session for Directors, NRH

New publications from a national music publisher (tba).

2:30–3:00 p.m.—Final rehearsal for ALL MEN of Festival Choir, CFL

3:00–4:30 p.m.—Final Festival Chorus Rehearsal in the CFL

5:00 p.m.—Directors' Banquet

Peace Dining Room ($10.00). There will be no banquet for students. Supper for students at the cafeteria in the Student Union is $7.75 (4:30 to 7:00) or they may eat in Marty’s Café. If you eat off campus, you are apt to be late for the concert!

7:00 p.m.—GRAND CONCERT

Dorian Festival Choir, Dorian Chamber Choir, outstanding soloists and the Luther College Nordic Choir.
