Music faculty to present opera scenes recital

Twelve members of the music department faculty will present a recital of opera scenes Friday, March 13 at 7 p.m. in the Noble Recital Hall.

The performance is open to the public with no charge for admission.

The program includes scenes from Bellini’s “I Puritani,” Donizetti’s “Don Pasquale” and “Lucia di Lammermoor,” Massenet’s “Werther,” Mozart’s “Don Giovanni” and “Die Zauberflöte,” Puccini’s “La Bohème” and “Gianni Schicchi,” Richard Strauss’ “Ariadne auf Naxos” and Verdi’s “Rigoletto.”

Performing in the recital are Luther faculty members Edwin Andereck, tenor; Eric Ashcraft, tenor; Tana Field, mezzo-soprano; David Judisch, baritone; Karen Kanakis, soprano; Jacob Lassetter, baritone; Gary Moss, baritone; Jessica Paul, piano; Beth Ray Westlund, mezzo-soprano; Jonathon Struve, baritone; Rachel Ware, soprano; and Andrew Whitfield, baritone.
