Pianists Hu and Huang to present Luther College faculty recital Oct. 26
Xiao Hu and Du Huang, members of the Luther College music faculty, will appear in recital Friday, Oct. 26, 8 p.m., in the Noble Recital Hall in the Jenson-Noble Music Hall on the Luther campus.
The program is open to the public with no charge for admission.
The first half of the program will include works for one piano, four hands. The second half of the program will feature works for two pianos.
Hu and Huang, professionally known as the Unison Piano Duo, will perform works by Franz Schubert, Claude Debussy, George Gershwin and Igor Strawinsky.
The Unison Piano Duo has performed throughout the United States, including Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall and Merkin Concert Hall in New York City.
Abroad, they have presented recitals in Vienna and numerous concert venues in China.
Hu and Huang were featured on Iowa Public Television and Minnesota Public Radio in 2005.
Hu and Huang are honor graduates of the University of Cincinnati where they studied with Eugene and Elizabeth Pridonoff. They each hold the doctor of musical arts degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
Both have served on the music faculty at Luther College since 2001.
